privacy policy

As you are probably aware, on 23.5.2018 came into practice new EU law called GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). If you are not aware, you probably live in the cave otherwise you wouldn’t miss loads of emails being sent out by every single website... Anyway, based on this law, I have to inform you about why and what information I collect on my website, so here it is. The longest and the most boring article I will ever write with having absolutely zero knowledge what I even write about, but what else can I do, that’s what THEY require (Who are they? Have you ever asked this question?).

Soooo here we go! This privacy policy discloses the privacy practices for this site. It applies solely to information collected by this website. It will notify you of the following:

What personally identifiable information is collected from you through the website, how it is used, and with whom it may be shared.

What choices are available to you regarding the use of your data.

The security procedures in place to protect the misuse of your information.

How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.

1. What do I know about you

So yes, as any other website, I collect certain information. I collect your cookies, that’s how the internet works (if you don’t know what cookies are, and you are one of those who cares, paste into your browser search “what are cookies?” and press enter).

I use Google analytics, mostly because it’s cool to check how many readers I get every day, but also because I like to see which article you like the most and write more about the stuff you like.

I also have a Facebook pixel installed, so if I ever decide to sell stuff, I can target you via Facebook advertisement. Surpriiiseee! Yes, that’s how it works, that’s why you see all the ads on Facebook and that’s why Facebook knows everything about you… If you don’t have Facebook, well good for you, but the pixel is tracking you anyway. Facebook is storing this info only for a certain amount of time, try to ask them how long, they keep changing it and I don’t care enough to keep checking it.

I also ask you to leave me your mail, so I can notify you about my new articles. But hey, that’s really up to you…

I am the only owner of the information collected on this site. I will not sell or rent this information to anyone. Unless they offer me millions! No, just kidding, I am not such gold digger. I promise you, your email will stay with me, and only me, forever. Or until you ask me to delete it.

2. You have the control

You may opt out of any future contacts from me at any time. I will be really sad, but hey, it’s called freedom of choice, right? If you really want to dig into it, you can contact me via Facebook or Instagram chat or reply to my newsletter at any time (I don’t share my email publicly, sorry, dig for it if you want to talk to me), and we can chat about following:

See what data I have about you if any.

Change/correct any data I have about you.

Have me delete any data I have about you.

Express any concern you have about my use of your data.

3. I use protection

My mum always told me: “Use protection.” So I do, offline and online as well. I protect not only myself, by regularly deleting search history and cached data including cookies (hint hint), I also protect you.

So, I don’t really do this yet, but maybe I will start selling my stuff soon, so I can keep travelling, in that case, wherever I collect sensitive information (such as credit card data, your home address, etc…), that information is encrypted and transmitted to me in a secure way. You can easily verify by looking at the link address, if there is https in the beginning, you are safe.

While I use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, I also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing, shipping or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which I store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

4. Let’s talk business

If we ever start selling stuff, to buy from us, you must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (PayPal contact, like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we’ll use this information to contact you. If you worry about your safety, read again the previous paragraph.

5. It might carry you away

From time to time, I like to support other bloggers or provide you more information by adding a link to another article or service. Please be aware that I am not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. So if you leave my website to be with somebody else, check if they are using protection as well!

6. I do not like children

Yeah sorry, might be because I am a teacher by education. Or maybe it's because EU requires parental consent in such case. Anyway, my website does not market to children under the age of 16. If you are under the age of 16, you cannot read my articles and use my services, so please don’t register or give me any of your personal details. If I become aware of a child under the age of 16 using my services, I will delete the personal information as soon as I can.

7. I have a right to change my mind, and so has EU

As woman often do, I like to change my mind, often. And so do the politicians representing us in European Union. So from whichever reason, my Privacy Policy may change from time to time and all updates will be posted on this page.

If you feel that I am not abiding by this privacy policy, you should contact me immediately via Facebook or Instagram chat or on my email.

8. My blog might make some money one day

This blog accepts forms of provisions from affiliate programs, cash advertising, sponsorship, paid insertions or other forms of compensation. The compensation received may influence the advertising content, topics or posts made on this blog. That content, advertising space or post will be clearly identified as paid or sponsored content. Translated to human words - some links or articles might be part of an affiliate cooperation when I receive a small commission from the owner of the linked website/service/product because you clicked on it on my website or read the article. I will always let you know if an article or link is sponsored.

If you don’t use ad-blocker, you can also see some ads on my website. I get a small commission from the advertiser if you click on the ad, so don’t be afraid to do so and support me so I can travel longer and write more interesting articles for you (just kidding, do whatever you want). The advertisement displayed to you is based on your cookies and based sites you visited before mine, so don’t blame me, if you see something inappropriate and rather go and delete your browsing history (its easy, just press ctrl+shift+delete)

In the future, when I become famous and wanted, I might be paid to provide opinion on products, services, websites and various other topics. I promise you, even when I will receive compensation for my posts or advertisements, I will always give my honest opinions, findings, beliefs, or experiences on those topics or products. The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely mines. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question.

My blog does not contain any content which might present a conflict of interest.

9. If you read this, you agree with me

By using my website, you agree with this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use my website. Yes, it’s easy as that.

10. Do you need a shoulder to cry at?

If you have any questions about this Policy, the practices of this website, or your dealings with this site, please contact me via Facebook chat, or reply to my newsletter email (I don’t share my email publicly, sorry, they kept offering me Viagra when I did…).
